Today on — “Pimp my Blog”
***UPDATES****
Yeppers… you heard right…. I’ve been tweaking my blog for *your* convenience!
For example – If you look to your right (your other right silly) you’ll notice I’ve added a new “Subscribe” feature!
Now… you can not only subscribe to my blog POSTS via “RSS” (aka: a “Feed”) — you can also subscribe to my blog COMMENTS too!!
Listen to the Pitter Patter!
Pretty spiffy, huh?
I use a service called “Feedburner“
which is free (for the basics) and just requires a few simple steps to set up. They also provide the function that allows you to get emails when I update! “Get Pitter Patter’d by email!”
That way….. you don’t have to miss ANY of the witty repartee left by others.. (the “My Comments” section doesn’t track non-WordPress commenter’s…and that was irritating me!)
Don’t you just *love* “Google Reader“?? I know I do!! How else could I possibly keep up with all the amazing people out there, every single day (ha! day?? every single hour!!!)

Next up: The Kitty Korral……..
Many have noticed that my “linky love” section suddenly disappeared… or as Eddie Izzard would say:
“La chat est sur la chaise, la souriee est sur la table, et la sange est…ou est la sange? La sange est disparu!”
But the thing is…. the “linky love” has simply been relocated to it’s own page called “Kitty’s Korral“
and on my sidebar you will find a second link, just in case you miss the page at the top.

For my next trick – let me introduce you to “MyBlogLog” (which has recently merged with Yahoo!)
“Why use Blog Log” – from their FAQ :
“For some, it’s the glory; for others it’s the danger. Still for others it’s the way members of the opposite sex find them a little more appealing.
MyBlogLog enables you to track that last little bit of information about your website. You probably already know where your users are coming from and you probably already know what pages they’re looking at while they’re there. However, if you have a blog or any other site where you frequently post new content on the main page, you don’t have a good way of tracking what people find interesting. One way is to track when people click on the links you provide. Up until now, outbound link tracking has been a pain in the butt, requiring CGIs and managed links. MyBlogLog makes this process easy.
But why do you need to know what people find interesting on your site? You can use it to tune your content to be even more compelling for your readers. You can use it to determine which stories you should follow up on. Hell, it’s just cool to *know* what people find interesting, even if you don’t do anything with it.”
Now….that’s nice and all….but me??? I’m in it for the cool little pictures on the side bar…. ha..ha..ha….
You need to have “some” familiarity with HTML if you want to “pimp” the code that creates this nifty widget. The one they give you on their site, for example, only provides the last 4 readers, so I pimped mine out to show the last 8, plus changed up the color scheme and names a bit. I’ve “Kittie-fied” it, you could say. ha..ha.ha..
So head on over the “MyBlogLog” and sign up. It’s free, it’s easy and you too can have your own nifty photo and widgets to play with!

Moving right along…. a new feature I’m trying out is “Digg“.
It’s really, really new to me (like…I just set up up tonight) so I’ll get back to you on how that works!
But if you see the cute little Icon
in my posts, then click on it and “Digg Me!” ha…ha..ha…!
——————————————————-
Last but not least….. “Technorati” : this can be found at the bottom of my side bar under “Pimping Pink Piddy Paws”
I’m still working on this little bugger. They do everything in javascript and WordPress does not allow mean, old, nasty java to be used in it’s widgets. So for now, I’m cheating a little bit, because my “Authority” number won’t update since I’m using a static photo from my Technorati site. But give me time…just give me time…..
Okay curious kitties… that’s all I have for now. Hope you enjoyed it!

You’re clearly SO much more internet/code saavy than I am. Although I must confess I am obsessed with my website stats. It’s kind of a sickness.
****Isn’t it fun though?? I *LOVE* my little stats meter. And all the search terms people use to find my site. hee..hee.he..
While this is a nice blog….I claim this Blog in the name of England!
What do you mean its your blog?
Do you have a flag?
***Sorry…. I have two flags… posted them just the other day.. You can’t have this blog… now sod off! Besides.. if you are using *YOUR* flag to protect your blog….I’ll just reclaim your flag. After all.. *I* made the damn thing! So there! ;P
