Holy Crap!
I think I’m on to something!!!
In the course of giving advice to a very darling person, I made a statement to her that I now realize is tantamount to having an epiphany.
You know the expression “TNT – We Know Drama“???
Well… I came up with this one: “SCA — We BREED Drama“
bwa…ha..ha..ha.ha…..
Go ahead… try and deny it!!
ANY of you people who ready my blog and are in the SCA…. I DARE you to try and deny that my statement isn’t true!
That is all…… kitty out!
meow…

Really? do you think you’ll get someone to argue this one with you?
I mean honestly..
Drama is so thick in the SCA that you can cut it with a knife.
The thing is to not let it get to you or suck you in…It CAN be avoided, you (the collective you) just have to decide not to get involved in it.
Its a personal choice.
***easier said than done. ;P
Is sucking a bad thing Ulrich? *grin* Sorry…you build drama your way….and I will build drama my way! ~~Dee
**ha..ha..ha.. different kind of drama ~Dee~ !
Dee, you are too funny! and sexy
>
But I do agree with you Ulrich, you can choose not to participate in the drama. Not that it won’t happen around you and I believe the more you try to avoid it, the more they talk about you. And if the true stuff isn’t dramatic enough, they will make some up.
Good seeing you at Fool’s War, my friend.
***”the more you try to avoid it the more they talk about you” … well THAT’S not very encouraging.
Hey … how are you managing to edit comments to include your responses? Since wordpress changed their dashboards, I can’t find the “edit” button on the comments page. Grrr.
***Wait… I talk about drama and you just want my IT help? yeesh…. I feel so used! ha..ha.ha..
Oh … the DRAMA. The Histrionics. The Festivities. Rolls eyes.
On the other hand, I’m of the opinion that anytime you get a community together (be it the Rotarians, the Church Ladies Auxiliary, or a Biker Club), you get some version of Drama. It’s all about group dynamics, who gets to be the big dawgs, and who wants to be the bid dawgs.
But the SCA certainly does have it’s special share.
***Oh.. okay.. back on topic. That’s better! All is forgiven.
I agree. I mean, yeah, any “social group” will have it’s fair share of drama. But I’m serious, the SCA generates it worse than ANY social group I’ve eve been in.
Man, my experience is SO different these days, since I’ve decided to stick close to home and avoid the SFB’s. There are occasional issues that pop up here, but I wouldn’t call it ‘drama’ – it tends to be far more reasonable (of course, I’ve noticed everyone has different standards for what qualifies as drama: I’ve met my share of the Prozac Nation, too).
As for gossip and lies Michael mentioned, hell, enjoy it for the ego boost it is.
Oh, good god, I’ve de-lurked! Now everyone will know I’m a fan of the Kitteh. Cool!
Hope you enjoyed FW!
***Wow… the clouds parted and a ray of sunshine illuminated a LURKER! Hee..hee… Audrey commented on my blog! Audrey commented on my blog! (doing the happy butt wiggle dance!).
Okay.. in all seriousness though.. sooooooo, you are saying that staying closer to home has allowed you to experience a significant drop in drama???? Hmmmm….something to ponder there. (doing my best “Pooh” impersonation… “think…think…think…Oh BOTHER!”) ha..ha…
I KNOW!! Let’s start crushing up Prozac and putting it in the sweet tea. bwa..ha..ha.ha… !
Trust me Dee the kind of ’suck’ that goes with this kind of drama is a bad thing…
the kind of ’suck’ your talking about….is a very very good thing.
***Geez Ulrich.. do you want me to introduce you two? I mean.. you keep hitting on ~Dee~ on my blog. ha….ha..ha.ha…! All this talk about sucking makes me want a popsicle… REAL BAD!
Ack! Audrey de-lurked! Now danggit I have to be good… lol! And wanted to say, except for the typically nasty weather… Fool’s War was great! Did some good fighting, saw some great friends!
And.. umm…Kitten… just bought some of the 15 calorie tropical popsicles…
